Welcome to Playbooks & Tools — Salt & Light’s hub for practical resources you can put to work right away. Each entry delivers a visual framework or executive tool designed to cut through complexity and accelerate action.
The Stakeholder Power Map
Identify who will make or break your transformation — in 5 minutes.
The Tool
Every transformation lives or dies on stakeholder dynamics. Yet executives often misjudge where the true leverage sits — focusing on the loudest voices instead of the most powerful or most resistant ones.
The Stakeholder Power Map is a quick 2x2 framework that shows you exactly where to focus your time, influence, and resources.
The Framework
Draw a simple 2x2 grid:
X-Axis: Level of Influence (Low → High)
Y-Axis: Level of Support (Low → High)
You now have four boxes:
High Influence / High Support → Champions
Engage closely, give them visibility, and let them amplify the message.
High Influence / Low Support → Risks
Neutralize or win over early — these stakeholders can derail the effort.
Low Influence / High Support → Allies
Keep informed and involved; they’ll sustain morale and execution at the ground level.
Low Influence / Low Support → Minimal Impact
Don’t overinvest. Monitor, but don’t waste executive bandwidth.
How to Use It
In your next transformation meeting, ask your team to map all key stakeholders onto the grid.
Compare results — misalignment on stakeholder perception is often the first red flag.
Build an engagement plan: Champions = leverage, Risks = influence strategy, Allies = energize, Minimal Impact = monitor.
Closing Note
Executives often fail not because the strategy is wrong, but because they underestimated the people dynamics. The Stakeholder Power Map forces clarity — showing you where the real battle lines are drawn.
